Day 1: Gondar – Debark – Sankaber Camp

Drive from Gondar to Debark for park formalities and scout collection, then continue into the Simien Mountains. Begin an easy introductory hike along the escarpment with stunning views over northern Ethiopia and frequent sightings of Gelada baboons. Overnight at Sankaber.

Day 2: Sankaber – Geech Camp

Follow the escarpment eastward, descend into the Kaba Valley, and climb toward the spectacular Geech Abyss. Visit the Jinbar Waterfall before lunch by the river, then walk through barley fields to Geech village. Enjoy a traditional coffee ceremony and an optional sunset hike to Keda Dit.

Day 3: Geech – Imet Gogo – Chennek Camp

Trek through Giant Lobelia fields to reach Imet Gogo (3,926m), one of the most iconic viewpoints in the park. Descend into the Jinbahir Valley and traverse dramatic volcanic landscapes before arriving at Chennek, an excellent location for spotting Walia ibex.

Day 4: Chennek – Buwahit Peak – Gondar

Early ascent of Mount Buwahit (4,430m), the second-highest peak in the Simien Mountains, offering views toward Ras Dashen (Ethiopia’s highest mountain). Descend back to Chennek and drive to Gondar.
